New Coin: Quantus (QTC)
Quantus Network is a Proof-of-Work Layer 1 that signs transactions with ML-DSA, the post-quantum signature scheme standardized by NIST, instead of ECDSA. Mainnet launched on September 9, 2026. Quantus is mined on GPUs, and NVIDIA cards perform best.
- Algorithm: Poseidon2
- Block reward: about 0.3 QTC plus transaction fees, decreasing slightly with every block
- Max supply: 21,000,000 QTC
- PPLNS pool: qtc.2miners.com:3636 (SSL 13636), fee 1%
- SOLO pool: solo-qtc.2miners.com:7676 (SSL 17676), fee 1.5%
- Minimum payout: 0.1 QTC
- Miner: SRBMiner-MULTI with –algorithm quantus
Mine on the QTC pool and QTC SOLO, and check profitability on 2CryptoCalc. Wallet setup, GPU hashrates, and HiveOS settings are in our guide: How to Mine Quantus (QTC).
Kaspa (KAS) Block Reward Reduction
As defined by the Kaspa Tokenomics and the official emission schedule, Kaspa went through another scheduled block reward reduction on October 5.
- Previous Reward: 2.182 KAS
- New Reward: 2.06 KAS
The reward drops by about 5.6% every month. Since March it has fallen from 3.086 KAS to 2.06 KAS per block.
Please pay attention! Kaspa mining profitability has changed. We have already updated 2CryptoCalc to reflect the new reward values. Mining continues on the KAS pool and KAS SOLO.
Node Updates
Bitcoin Cash Node 29.2.0
Our BCH node runs Bitcoin Cash Node v29.2.0 (commit 07576013c), released on October 2. It is a minor release, and the developers recommend it to everyone on v29.1.0 or older.
- The -excessiveblocksize setting is removed. Block size limits are now handled only by ABLA, the adaptive block size algorithm. A node with this setting in its config will not start until it is deleted.
- -blockmaxsize no longer stops the node at startup when it is set above the consensus limit. Block templates use the lower of the two values.
- The node wallet signs with Schnorr signatures by default.
- New and extended RPCs, plus performance and memory optimizations.
Nothing changes in your miner configuration. Mine on the BCH pool and BCH SOLO.
Quai: Security Fixes (v0.56.1 Code)
Our Quai nodes run go-quai master-1805eff5. This commit carries the same code as the v0.56.1 release: the release tag only adds the version number on top of it. The Quai team asked all nodes to upgrade as soon as possible.
- Malformed workshares, transactions, ETXs, and P2P messages can no longer crash a node or stall block processing.
- Malformed Scrypt template hashes are rejected before mining starts.
- ETX and Qi consensus fixes.
No changes for miners. Mine on QUAI KawPow, QUAI KawPow SOLO, QUAI SHA-256, and QUAI SHA-256 SOLO.
Pearl v1.5.0: Security Hardening
Pearl v1.5.0 collects fixes for security issues reported to the Pearl team. The developers asked miners and pools to upgrade first, because the release tightens a script validation rule.
- Bounded request sizes and peer resource usage, better protection against stalled or misbehaving peers.
- Stricter transaction, signature, and proof validation.
- OP_CHECKXMSSSIG now fails the script on a wrong-length key or signature. Standard wallet spends are not affected.
- Chains of unconfirmed transactions in the mempool are limited to 25 transactions.
Our node is already upgraded, and nothing changes in your miner setup. Mine on PRL POOL and PRL SOLO, and check profitability on 2CryptoCalc.
