Dual mining means mining two cryptocurrencies at the same time with the same GPU, and it may be quite profitable. We were dual mining Ethereum (ETH) and Toncoin (TON). The <a href=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/\">2Miners pool<\/a> team tested the mining software with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and NVIDIA CMP 90HX, but the principles are applicable to many other graphics cards, including Nvidia (both <a href=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/increasing-nvidia-lhr-graphics-cards-hashrate-with-lolminer-test-by-2miners\/\">LHR<\/a> and non-LHR), and AMD.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><code>Spoiler alert: It makes sense to dual mine Ethereum and Toncoin. We established that it's more profitable and ETH mining efficiency doesn't drop. So you can definitely increase your profit. Keep reading to learn more.<\/code><\/p>\n<h2>Ethereum Dual Mining. How It Works?<\/h2>\n<p>Occasionally dual mining sparks interest among both miners and mining software developers. As we already mentioned above, dual mining is the simultaneous mining of two cryptocurrencies with the same equipment. The two cryptocurrencies can work on different mining algorithms.<\/p>\n<p><code>The main goal of dual mining is to get additional profit by mining the second coin with an insignificant increase in energy consumption.<\/code><\/p>\n<p>The 2Miners pool team has been constantly researching dual mining for the past few years sharing its findings with the community. Starting from October 2018, the software is being actively developed. It supports a lot of algorithms: Ethash, Etchash, ZelHash, Equihash, Cuckoo, Cuckaroo, Cuckatoo, Autolykos, and BeamHash. lolMiner supports NVIDIA and AMD and works on Windows and Linux.<\/p>\n<p>lolMiner&#8217;s developers constantly keep in touch with their users on popular platforms, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/chat2miners\">2Miners Telegram chat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><code>You can always download the latest miner version on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lolliedieb\/lolMiner-releases\/releases\">Github<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/code><\/p>\n<p>lolMiner 1.43 was announced on February 4, 2022. This version allows you to dual mine Ethash\/Etchash + Ton (Toncoin). It supports Nvidia graphics cards with the Turing and Ampere architecture, as well as AMD&#8217;s Fury and RX 400 series and above. The mining software charges a 1% fee.<\/p>\n<p>lolMiner 1.43 documentation is on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lolliedieb\/lolMiner-releases\/releases\/tag\/1.43\">Github<\/a>, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lolliedieb\/lolMiner-releases\/wiki\/lolMiner-1.43-dual-and-split-mining-options\">dual and split mining options<\/a> guide and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lolliedieb\/lolMiner-releases\/wiki\/Tuning-guide-Dual-TON\">dual TON tuning guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><code> Toncoin is a token of The Open Network (TON) developed by the TON Foundation. The project was initially run by Telegram's team with Pavel Durov. In May 2020, the developers were forced to abandon the project under the pressure of the US regulators. We recommend always choosing payouts <a href=\"https:\/\/2miners.com\/blog\/how-to-get-payouts-for-ethereum-mining-without-fees\/\">in BTC<\/a>. This way your transaction fee during payout from the pool won&#8217;t exceed $0.10.<\/p>\n<p>The guide on how to start mining is always available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/eth.2miners.com\/\">pool&#8217;s help page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Coin #2: Toncoin (SHA256 Algorithm)<\/h3>\n<p>To get a Toncoin&#8217;s address, we used the <a href=\"https:\/\/tonkeeper.com\/\">Tonkeeper<\/a> smartphone wallet available for iOS and Android. You can use any wallet listed on the TON&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/ton.org\/wallets\">official Wallets page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><code>Important: You can't use exchange wallets to get coins from mining pools. You would end up losing your funds. Send mining funds to a local wallet and only then transfer coins to exchanges if needed.<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Choose one of the pools <a href=\"https:\/\/ton.org\/mining\">recommended by TON<\/a>. We chose <a href=\"https:\/\/tonwhales.com\/\">TON Whales<\/a>. In this case we needed to use <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/WhalesPoolBot\">@WhalesPoolBot<\/a> in Telegram to register in the pool. The same bot can help you withdraw coins from the pool.<\/p>\n<h2>Ethereum + Toncoin Dual Mining on Windows<\/h2>\n<p><em>Configuration 1<\/em>. Fix the clock and voltage. We used the Voltage\/Frequency Curve Editor in MSI Afterburner. The SHA256 algorithm showed a hash rate of 2515\u20132556\u00a0Mh\/s. The SHA256&#8217;s hash rate depends on the core clock and PL. This is an officially recommended range.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bat-file:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><code>lolMiner.exe --algo ETHASH --pool eth.2miners.com:2020 --user WALLET_ADDRESS1.RIG_ID --dualmode TONDUAL --dualpool https:\/\/server1.whalestonpool.com --dualuser WALLET_ADDRESS2 --tstop 70 --tstart 50 --timeprint on --longstats 30<br \/>\npause<\/code><\/p>\n<p>The mining program was active for three hours. <\/p>\n<p><em>GPU0: CC 1274MHz<\/em><br \/>\n<em>GPU1: CC 1334MHz<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When dual mined this way, the Ethash algorithm showed a hash rate of 82\u00a0Mh\/s, which was 2\u00a0Mh\/s less compared to the Ethash&#8217;s hash rate when mined alone. The SHA256 algorithm showed a hash rate of 2044\u20132155\u00a0Mh\/s. The SHA256&#8217;s hash rate depends on the core clock and PL.
